Why does Amplify not build guided reading time into their reading program?

Explore the scaffolded supports of the Texas Elementary Literacy Program dual strands, Skills and Knowledge.

This program has been carefully researched and crafted to make every child in a classroom into a reader. The program is divided into two strands: a Skills Strand and a Knowledge Strand.

The Amplify Texas Elementary Literacy Program ensures that students are working with grade-level texts every day. K–2 Student Readers help students contextualize meaning as they read. Student Readers in the program represent grade-level text with embedded supports to help students recognize patterns. 3–5 Student Readers represent complex grade-level texts for equitable engagement of all learners and allow teachers to provide instructional scaffolding based on students’ needs.
